For the fourth consecutive year, Prime Line® helped sponsor the Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Project. This year’s distribution event provided more than 3,200 families in need with ingredients to prepare a classic Thanksgiving meal. During the event, the non-profit also donated around 15,000 winter coats, along with hats, gloves, scarves, and socks. “The Great Thanksgiving Event is an amazing opportunity for Prime to partner with The Bridgeport Rescue Mission. We honor the mission year-round, as they extend kindness daily to our local community,” said Maria Koppy, vice president of organizational development, for Prime Line. “In addition to donating items, we appreciate the opportunity to provide our employees with this cherished hands-on volunteer experience. Our goal is to create awareness within our company, to serve others and to support important causes.”
Distribution for the Great Thanksgiving Project took place from November 20 through November 26 at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the same city Prime Line is headquartered. Prime offered 5,000 decorated tote bags to help deliver the meals. Providing durable bags allows for the donated food to be packed and transported in a neat and respectful way. In addition to donating 5,000 totes, several Prime employees volunteered to help during the event. David Bennett was one of Prime’s volunteers, “I had a very good time and once again feel validated in joining the Prime family. It feels great to work in a place that routinely gives back to its community.”
Prime Line has supported the Bridgeport Rescue Mission since 2014 with ongoing donations of blankets, bags, hats and hot cocoa. This past year, the supplier was recognized for its volunteer and donation efforts at the Annual Restore Hope Event. Prime received the Compassion in Action Award from the Bridgeport Rescue Mission for its commitment to the surrounding public.
Prime Line has established a rich tradition of supporting both industry and community causes such as the Yale Children’s Hospital Cancer Center, Breast Cancer Awareness, The Read Aloud program in the Bridgeport Public School System, Coats for Kids and more.
Prime Line is proud to sponsor and support the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, a faith-based organization that is dedicated to fighting poverty from the inside out. The non-profit provides a place of hope through a yearlong educational program, biblical counseling and case management.
